Tina Turner ‘knew the end’ was near, and what she did is absolutely heartbreaking

Tributes are flooding in from around the world after the passing of music icon Tina Turner yesterday.

As per reports, the legendary singer had suffered from a series of serious health problems over the past few years, fighting cancer, a stroke, and kidney failure.

The announcement of her passing, aged 83, was made yesterday on her official Instagram page, prompting an outpour of grief online.

“With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow,” the social media reads.

“Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music.”

While the (Simply) The Best singer’s death may have seemed sudden – it was not preceded by any information indicating that her passing was imminent – new reports from Radar Online suggest Turner knew her time was coming.

Radar say that the so-dubbed Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll had endeavored to settle all matters relating to her estate over the last few years so as to avoid any family in-fighting over the fortune she would leave behind.

Having been stricken with her aforementioned health problems, it’s said Turner decided to get her final will in order in 2021.

The Brownsville born singer-songwriter reportedly boasted an estate worth some  $270 million, and even sold off her music catalog to the BMG record label for $50 million before her death.

According to Radar Online, a source said at the time: “Tine knows her time is short, and she wants to make sure her ducks are in a row for her family. She’s been dealing with poor health for years and knows the end is near.”

Indeed, Turner experienced a number of tragic set-backs over the last decade. She fought intestinal cancer before undergoing a kidney transplant in 2017.

In 2018, her oldest son, Craig Turner, died by suicide at the age of 59. Earlier this year, another of her children, Ronnie, passed away after suffering a medical emergency at his home in San Fernando Valley.

“Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son,” Turner said.

Any number of high-profile celebrities, including Sir Mick Jagger, NBA legend Magic Johnson, and Elton John have paid tributes to the late singer.

Rest in peace, Tina Turner. A true icon of the music industry and a talent whose legacy will live on for generations to come.
